I’ve begun working on a new version of X360+. The point has come where I can’t maintain the X360DB properly, and it means new games are just being neglected.
I am trying to create a new version to work with Giant Bomb using the APIs provided by Whiskey Media. What this should mean is that the script will have more functions available, such as reviews and game ratings, and that much less maintenance will need to be done on the X360DB.

Sadly, this does not rule out my side of it, as Microsoft have limited Giant Bombs information, and means I will likely have to create a database just to get the correct GB game found. This won’t be a huge undertaking, and again it will be open for all to add the games they want, but I hope to find a better solution in the end.

If anyone has any requests for the script, such as features they may like to see, please let me know in the requests thread.

I’m working to get the X360 Database working to a better level now. People have often contacted me as of how to add games which aren’t in the database, so hopefully this should improve things for everyone.

I will be instituting a user system for editing. This is purely to prevent too much vandalism from occurring (yes, I have noticed it happening). Signup will be open, and everyone will have access to edit, and add new games, but some of the more frequent users will be given a higher access level to lock games which are often vandalised, or which have sufficient game info provided.

Should any user disagree with a mods decision to lock then they should contact me directly. Similarly, anyone who feels they should have this access may request it.

Some of you may already be familiar with X360+, a script I made to enable a small amount of interoperability between MSN Messenger, and the XBox 360. As the script is currently sitting in the coolpicks section of the Messenger Plus Scripts Database, I have launched my X360 Database to accompany it.

The reason for the database is to allow users to modify the results for the scripts, allowing a greater variety of images and messages than I would be capable of alone.

Currently, I have left the database as open access so anyone can edit it. Hopefully, doing it this way will mean more people will modify the database and will therefore give us much more varied and complete results. If however, the database becomes abused then I will instate a user system to keep it safe.
