After last weeks “research”, I decided to fall deeper into the Supernatural… or rather, to start watching the show again. It’s been my favourite since it started, and I’ve completely loved all of the occult lore that falls into it. It’s one of the few things where I’ve felt the writers actually know exactly what they’re going on about (in most cases anyway), and this has been reflected in their creatures. Even the main characters were brought up in Lawrence, Kansas – mere miles from Stull Cemetery, one of the claimed “Gateways to Hell”. In fact, the cemetery itself was the scene of the final episode of their fifth season.

I’m enjoying the shows current 7th season, but looking back at season one is absolutely fantastic. The show, although fresher, dealt with a few darker undertones. More to the point, there were episodes of it which actually gave me a start.
I’ve only gotten to episode 5, but it’s brought up the old Urban Legend of “Bloody Mary”, one which does kinda creep me out.
I know it’s not true; I’m not completely delusional, despite what much of the world may think; but it’s still a creepy idea. I’d never stand it front of a mirror and say “Bloody Mary” 3 times. Neither would I say “Candyman” or “Baba Yaga” into it for the same reason. I don’t know how many times I’ve caught sight of something out of the corner of my eye in a mirror to find nothing there – why bother tempting fate with ghost stories.

Hell, up until 2 month ago I never even had a mirror, and was a lot happier that way… I may have to make a curtain for it tomorrow now. As it is, I’m a little edgy about going to the bathroom tonight.
